A&M-Texarkana and Heritage Home Health & Hospice Form New Academic Partnership

TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Heritage Home Health & Hospice have entered a new academic partnership that will allow Heritage Home Health & Hospice employees to take courses at the university with reduced tuition prices. The partnership was officially launched on May 14, 2024, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the A&M-Texarkana Campus.

“We are honored to announce that our newest community partner is Heritage Home Health & Hospice,” said A&M-Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander. “The Heritage name has long been associated with excellence in healthcare in Texarkana and the surrounding region. We are thrilled to be able to assist their employees as they look to further their education and advance their careers.”

“What a wonderful opportunity and honor to be a part of the TAMUT Educational Partnership,” said Heritage Home Health & Hospice Owner and CEO Blake Rich. “Giving our hard-working staff members the ability to explore new careers in the healthcare landscape and offering a more affordable avenue for the continuance and completion of an existing educational goal aligns with my definition of investing in our community. Encouraging the substantial growth of our health professional population will provide Texarkana and the surrounding areas with a strong workforce, increased quality of life, and better care for its residents.”

Under the terms of the new partnership all full-time employees of Heritage Home Health & Hospice will receive a tuition discount on all undergraduate, graduate, certificate, or micro-credential programs delivered in-person, online, or through a hybrid format. The agreement also waives the standard application fee. In addition to the tuition discount, any eligible employee who is a new student at the university will receive the First Flight Scholarship, which gives the new student their first class free if they are enrolled in at least 6 hours at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Employees wishing to take advantage of the new partnership must meet the admissions standards of the program to which they apply and must remain in good academic standing.
