A&M-Texarkana Reports 22% Summer Enrollment Jump, 2nd Consecutive Term of Record Enrollment

TEXARKANA, Texas – the Summer 2024 term has officially begun, and Texas A&M University-Texarkana has a 22% enrollment increase compared to the summer term in 2023. Additionally, the university set a record for students enrolled in a summer term, which when combined with the Spring 2024 enrollment numbers gives the university record enrollment figures for two consecutive terms. In addition to the student enrollment numbers, the number of credit hours students are registering for has increased by 17% as well.

“We are thrilled to celebrate another enrollment record this summer,” said Texas A&M University-Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander. “A strong summer enrollment portends a strong fall enrollment. Great things are happening at A&M-Texarkana, and we’re just getting started!”

University officials attribute the enrollment growth to multiple factors, including a revamped scholarship program and numerous community partnerships with large area employers. These academic partnerships allow employees from partner organizations to receive scholarships in the form of discounted tuition.

Enrollment numbers for the Fall 2024 semester are trending significantly higher as well. With three on-campus registration events scheduled for June, July, and August, university officials believe another significant increase in enrollment can be expected this fall.
