A&M-Texarkana and Diamond Bank Form New Academic Partnership

TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Diamond Bank have entered a new academic partnership that will allow Diamond Bank employees to take courses at the university with reduced tuition prices. The partnership was officially launched on July 17, 2024, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding at Diamond Bank, located at 5714 Richmond Road in Texarkana.

“We are pleased to add our friends at Diamond Bank to our growing list of community partners,” said Texas A&M University-Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander. “Their commitment to excellence in financial services and in supporting their customers and communities matches very well with our commitment to serving the education needs of the Texarkana region. We look forward to helping Diamond Bank employees meet the education goals that will help them find continued success in their careers.”

“All of us here at Diamond Bank are super excited to partner with Texas A&M University-Texarkana,” said Frank Halter, Diamond Bank Market President. “Dr Alexander and his staff have been a pleasure to work with and the opportunity our employees benefit from with access to such a great institution of higher learning is immeasurable. We are very thankful for this win-win partnership.”

“Partnering with a top-tier higher education institution like Texas A&M-Texarkana will help educate our employees and position Diamond Bank to grow in the Texarkana Market,” said Billy Lavender, Diamond Bank Assistant Market President. “We couldn’t be more excited with this opportunity and look forward to having this partnership for years to come.”

Under the terms of the new partnership all full-time employees of Diamond Bank will receive a tuition discount on all undergraduate, graduate, certificate, or micro-credential programs delivered in-person, online, or through a hybrid format. The agreement also waives the standard application fee. In addition to the tuition discount, any eligible employee who is a new student at the university will receive the First Flight Scholarship, which gives the new student their first class free if they are enrolled in at least 6 hours at the undergraduate or graduate level.

The benefits of the partnership are available immediately and may be used for the upcoming Fall 2024 semester. Employees wishing to take advantage of the new partnership must meet the admissions standards of the program to which they apply and must remain in good academic standing.
