Alumni Feature - Tim Frith

Introducing alumnus Tim Frith, former Eagles baseball player and 2020 A&M-Texarkana graduate who is now an attorney with Wright Lindsey Jennings in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Originally from Stayton, Oregon, Tim played baseball for two years at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon before finding his way to Texas. Tim never visited the campus before enrolling at the university but heard about the program through one of his coaches while playing summer ball in the Great West League. “The affordability of the university was a big thing,” Frith said. “And I thought a change of scenery would be nice.”

Tim majored in criminal justice with an eye towards going to law school. He worked in the economic development world for a couple of years but went on to graduate from the University of Arkansas Bowen School of Law in 2024. Tim is now employed with Wright Lindsey Jennings, one of the region’s premier law firms that dates to 1900. Tim litigates business and commercial cases but is also involved in sports law. Sports law is one of his favorite aspects of legal work, and although at this time it makes up about 20% of his practice, Tim anticipates seeing an increase in sports-related cases in the coming years.

Tim speaks very highly of his time at A&M-Texarkana and recently joined the university’s Alumni Association Board of Directors. One of his favorite things about the university was the small class sizes and the familiarity that he had with his classmates and professors. “As a student there are a lot of benefits to being in smaller classes,” Frith said. “There are advantages you just can’t get in big classes at a larger school.” Tim also said that the university had a lot of resources that helped him learn about law school, and that the university’s academic advising was a central feature in his success.

He added that there are plenty of reasons prospective students should consider A&M-Texarkana. In addition to the affordability and small class sizes, he cited the university’s wide assortment of degree programs and course offerings as a primary benefit. He also mentioned that the uniqueness of the Texarkana area has its advantages as well. “There are two separate metro areas blended into one city,” Frith said. “That gives you lots of access and opportunity with regard to the workforce.”

Tim has been married to Texarkana native Hannah Howry for 2.5 years, and the couple has a chocolate lab named Rosie. Frith describes himself and his wife as “foodies,” who enjoy trying new restaurants and attending sporting events in their spare time.
