How to become a Tutor

Please read the job descriptions at the bottom of this page for duties, qualifications, and pay. If you are a non-student or external applicant you will need to apply through a separate process HERE.

Open Positions:

  • Chemistry Tutor

To Apply:

  • All applicants must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Submit application with background check (see below)
  • Submit required faculty recommendations (see below)

Application Instructions:

  1. Download our Application Document.
  2. Fill out the application and ensure the background check is signed at the end.
  3. If filling digitally, ensure all information is saved before you submit (especially the signature).
  4. Email the application to or submit printed applications to the front desk of the Success Center in UC330.

Faculty Recommendations:

  • Tutor applicants must have three professors submit recommendations, two of which must be from professors in the subject you wish to tutor.
  • SI Leaders must have professors submit three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a professor in the class you wish to SI.
  • Graduate Assistants must submit three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from an A&M professor in any subject.  

Professors should send their recommendations to Plain text emails attesting to your suitability are fine -- mailing physical letters or attaching separate documents is not required.
