How to become a Tutor
Please read the job descriptions at the bottom of this page for duties, qualifications, and pay.
Open Positions:
- Math Tutor (Mathematics Major Preferred)
- Accounting & Business Tutor
- Electrical Engineering & Math Tutor (Must be EE Major)
- SI Leader for Person Centered Care I
To Apply:
- All applicants must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Submit application (see below)
- Submit required faculty recommendations (see below)
Application Instructions:
- Download and fill out our Application Document.
- If filling digitally, ensure all information is saved before you submit
- Email the application to tutors@tamut.edu or submit printed applications to the front desk of the Library.
Faculty Recommendations:
- Tutor applicants must have three professors submit recommendations, two of which must be from professors in the subject you wish to tutor.
- SI Leaders must have professors submit three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a professor in the class you wish to SI.
- Graduate Assistants must submit three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from an A&M professor in any subject.
Professors should send their recommendations to tutors@tamut.edu. Plain text emails attesting to your suitability are fine -- mailing physical letters or attaching separate documents is not required.
