Whether you’re looking for course content, trying to understand how third-party tools work, or figuring out how to submit assignments, this guide will walk you through the essentials. Student Canvas Access

How do I log into Canvas as a first-time user?

Note: If you cannot access Digital Backpack with your CWID and passwordyou will need to Contact IT Service Desk at (903) 334-6603.

I just registered for a course, but it is not showing up on my Canvas?

If you just registered for a class, allow up to 3 hours for it to appear on Canvas. If it has been more than 24 hours, contact the Registrar's Office.

I signed up for a course for the second 8 week of the semester, but it is not showing up on my Canvas Dashboard.

Courses appear on Canvas Dashboard on the official first day of class. Please refer to the Current Schedule Information to confirm the start date of your classes.

Why do I see courses from the previous semester on my Dashboard?

Some courses from the previous semester may remain open for administrative purposes only. 

I need a copy of my grades from the previous semester.

Please contact your instructor to request a copy of your grades.

Student Content and Submissions

I cannot find any content (syllabus, lectures, videos etc.) in my canvas course?

Please contact your instructor if you cannot locate the content.

How do I submit a video as an assignment or discussion board post?

Please refer to the following guides:

How do I request (a) additional attempts; and (b) date extension on an assignment or Quiz?

Contact your instructor to request a due date extension, additional attempts, and/or accommodations.

Student Third-Party Tools

Where do I download Respondus Lockdown Browser?

Respondus Lockdown Browser is available directly from the Respondus Download Page.

My Respondus lockdown exam is not opening.

Students will need to visit Respondus page and contact their technical support for assistance. 

I cannot access my textbooks on Canvas.

For all questions related to purchasing or accessing textbooks, students will need to contact Eagle Bookstore at (903) 334-6620 or email sm8533@bncollege.com.

 

I cannot access LinkedIn Learning assignments.

To access LinkedIn Learning, go to tamut.edu, select Digital Backpack, and select LinkedIn Learning from All Apps. Then, return to Canvas and click on the assignment link. If you still cannot access the assignments, please contact your instructor for assistance.

Are there online resources I can use for help without emailing or submitting a ticket?

Students can access Canvas Guides through the Help button in the global navigation menu on the left side of Canvas.
