Housing Requirements
Exemptions
A&M-Texarkana campus has a one-year live on requirement for new first time in college students. Once you have lived in BLV for one year, you are not required to live on campus any longer. All exemptions to the University housing requirement must be documented and approved by the Office of Residence Life. Students who live within 45 miles of campus are exempt from living in Bringle Lake Village. Exemption forms for students who do not meet either of these requirements are available below.
The Housing Exemption request deadline schedule is as follows:

Meal Plan Requirements
The University requires all students residing within Bringle Lake Village to purchase a meal plan. Students who live off campus are not required to purchase a meal plan. If you have been exempted from housing, you are not required to purchase a meal plan.
Meal Plan Exemptions
- All residents of on campus housing are required to have a meal plan. There are very limited opportunities to receive an exemption for the meal plan requirement. These considerations include dietary restrictions that cannot be accommodated by our food service provider, or specific medical necessities which require appropriate documentation. Failure to use the dining program, class schedule, sports schedule, employment schedule, finances, vegetarian/vegan/organic diets are not viable reasons for an exemption.
- All exemption request decisions are final, and a student may only make one request per semester.
