College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) lets examinees test to receive college credit. Please refer to Texas A&M University-Texarkana Catalog for a list of accepted CLEP exams for TAMUT, their minimum score requirements, and the equivalent course it satisfies.
To ensure you receive credit, we strongly recommend confirming the exam you need with your advisor (advising@tamut.edu) or with the Office of the Registrar (registrar@tamut.edu) prior to testing.

Two Options for Taking the CLEP
Option 1 – In person proctoring at the A&M-Texarkana Testing Center
Registering for the CLEP is a two-part registration process:
- Please visit the CLEP webpage to register and pay for ($95.00) the CLEP exam prior to scheduling your appointment with the Testing Center below. CLEP will provide a ticket ID/voucher number that you will need for the following step.
- Schedule an appointment with the A&M-Texarkana Testing Center. A NON-REFUNDABLE administrative site fee of $23.50 is required at the end of this registration. Be sure to include your ticket ID/voucher number when asked.
Option 2 – Online proctoring at home on your own device
CLEP now offers online proctoring through Proctortrack. Visit CLEP Remote Proctoring for additional information and requirements. Please note:
- You will not need to register with the A&M-Texarkana testing center or pay our admin fee using this option. You’ll do everything through CLEP’s website & exam portal.
- During the exam, ensure you select Texas A&M-Texarkana when prompted to select which schools to send scores to.

Hours of Operation
Administrative Hours | M-Th 9:00am to 4:30pm | Testing Hours During the Semester | M-W 9:00am to 10:00pm, TH- F 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Sat 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
NOTE: Testing hours are subject to change. Please contact us with any questions regarding scheduling. Please note that closing times are prompt. Students must begin their exams early enough to finish by closing time.
