Testing Center Faculty Guide
What is the Testing Center?
The A&M-Texarkana Testing Center offers testing services to both students and the wider community in support of educational, personal, & career goals. Our center serves as a testing site for national, statewide, and university testing programs.
How can testing help faculty?
The Testing Center offers:
- Make-up exams
- Accommodated Exams
- Easy exam submission within Canvas
- Seamless digital exam return
How do I submit an exam?
All exams are submitted from within Canvas. Once your submission has been approved, students can register for the test via the registration portal on Canvas or the Testing Center webpage.
Exam Submission Steps:
- Login to Canvas with your faculty login.
- Select your desired course.
- From the left menu, select Testing Center.
- The Submissions page will appear, displaying your exam submissions and returns.
- Select the + at the top right of the screen to open the submission form.
- Follow the instructions and submit.
Please note:
- Exams MUST be submitted through the portal (verbal/written requests not allowed).
- 24 hours advanced notice is required.
- Restrictions: You must enter a minimum of one student and no more than 10. Please use their ACEmail address. Students not listed in the Restrictions section will not be able to register for the exam.
- Exam returns may take up to 2 business days.
Can I edit my submissions?
- From the Submissions page, select the dots to the left of your exam to edit or add students, change dates, delete, or clone the exam.
- If options to edit are not available, please contact the Testing Center.
Can I schedule my whole class?
- The Testing Center is not available for entire class testing. We prioritize make-up exams & students that need alternate test times or an accommodated setting.
Where do I retrieve Exams?
- All exams are returned digitally within two business days. Physical copies are stored until the end of semester and then destroyed.
- From the Testing Center page in Canvas, select the History tab at the top.
- Select the file icon on the right next to the student to see their completed exam.
How does accommodation work?
- Students with accommodations can contact the Disabilities Office at (903) 223-3062 or email accommodations@tamut.edu.
What about non-course exams?
- Placement, comprehensive, and other non-course-based exams can be setup by contacting testingcenter@tamut.edu.
Do you offer Scantron services?
Yes! We offer Scantron test scoring for faculty.
To submit Scantrons for scoring and reporting:
- Create and label your exam key.
- Fill out a Test Scoring and Reporting Request.
- Once completed, this form can be printed and attached to your exams and key, or it can be emailed to the Testing Center prior to dropping off your exams and key.
- Admins can leave the material in the locked box outside of the testing center or bring them directly to testing center personnel in UC325.
- Turnaround for scoring is two business days.
